This weld-on bracket for the W56 transmission crossmember goes together with the 22R-to-OM617 Motor Mounts. The new motor mounts move the engine/transmission back. You have two options for the trans bracket - you can leave everything at factory height, or you can lift the trans 1". A 1" body lift is required to run the 1" bracket. Without raising the transmission 1", the engine slopes backwards by roughly 4°. With the 1" bracket, the engine slopes <1.5°. The OM617 has a factory rearward slope of ~3° in the Mercedes 300.  Installation of this bracket will require approximately 2.4" of driveshaft legnthening/shortening. IFS trucks may not require front driveshaft modification.
