The VW 1.9 AHU/ALH TDI to R150 Adapter Kit will mate your VW 1.9 AHU or ALH TDI donor motor to your stock Toyota 5-Speed manual R150 transmission. All hardware is included, as well as the adapter plate, dust shield, custom pilot bearing (commercially available) and starter spacer. You also have the option to add a brand new, stock-sized, 9-1/4" flywheel, or upgrade to the 3.4L's 10" flywheel. The flywheel is machined to the TDI crankshaft pattern and is ready to be bolted on. The new flywheel comes neutral balanced. The 9-1/4" flywheel uses your stock 1988-1995 clutch. The 10" flywheel uses a clutch from a 1996-2004 Toyota Pickup/4Runner V6 4x4. The throwout bearing must match whichever bellhousing you're using; if you're using a 1990 bellhousing, you'll need a throwout bearing for a 1988-1995 V6 Toyota Pickup/4Runner 4x4. You can opt for (12) new ARP flywheel bolts with your flywheel. If not ordering a flywheel, but you still want flywheel bolts, please order from the flywheel bolts product page. You can use a starter from a 3VZE or a 5VZE. The 3.4L starter has a higher 1.8KW output option referred to as a "Cold Weather Package" option.
This kit was designed for the AHU and ALH Volkswagen TDI. Many other VW diesels share the same bellhousing pattern, but it is not guaranteed the components on those engines will fit the same (i.e., starter, manifolds, oil filter, etc.). The 1.8 Gas may also work.
This kit will work with an R150 from a 3.4L 5VZ-FE, the outer perimeter of the bellhousing just won't match perfectly. You will have to supply some of the bellhousing hardware yourself. The 5VZ-FE R150 to VW 1.9 TDI adapter kit will be coming, soon!
